Bloating occurs as a result of Gas being trapped in the stomach or the gastrointestinal tract.
Usually, when a person is bloated they may experience some tightness and pressure in their stomach, pain, discomfort, stomach rumbling endless belching that might even be embarrassing at times.
There is a degree of bloating that might be due to underlying digestive conditions but in most cases, it is usually a result of foods that we consume such as;
Food that contains Raffinose
Foods like beans, cabbages, brussels sprouts, broccoli and asparagus among other vegetables contain Raffinose.
It is a carbohydrate that is digested poorly because of the absence of an enzyme known as alpha-galactosidase in the human digestive system. Therefore it passes the stomach without being digested into the large intestines where it is fermented by gut bacteria resulting in the production of gases such as Hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane which lead to bloating. Carbonated Drinks
All carbonated drinks contain high amounts of carbon dioxide which is a gas that causes bloating and belching.
Wheat
It contains a stick stretchy protein that is called Gluten, which when consumed leads to bloating.
It's found in foods like pizzas, tortillas, bread and other wheat products.
Chewing Gum
Chewing Gum often causes one to swallow air and a lot of it and when it lands in the stomach it leads to bloating.
Over Eating
Eating faster than we ought makes us swallow a lot of air, some of which might be passed out in the form of belching while some, unfortunately, gets down to our stomach leading to bloating.
Dairy Products
Milk is a good source of potassium and calcium minerals.
However, it has sugar in it that is known as lactose which is not easily broken down in the digestive tract in high per cent of the world's population and because of it causes bloating
